About FoolsQuest
FoolsQuest is not a generated deck. It is one woman's practice, externalized — the work of Rebecca St. Clair, carried across decades of reading, teaching, and living with the cards.
[DRAFT — Rebecca's biography and the founding story of the deck belong here, in her own testimony. Pending her voice. Do not fabricate.]
Why our elements are not the ones you expect
If you read tarot, you will notice at once that our suits do not carry their usual elements. This is deliberate. It is not an error, and it is not a machine's confusion of the tradition.
| Suit | FoolsQuest element | Classical (RWS) |
|---|---|---|
| Wands | Air | Fire |
| Swords | Fire | Air |
| Cups | Water | Water |
| Pentacles | Earth | Earth |
The Major Arcana carry no element — each Major is its own force.
[DRAFT — Rebecca's reasoning for the Wands/Swords inversion (the felt-sense basis of her choice) belongs here, in her words. This is the load-bearing paragraph that tells a traditionalist this is a considered practice, not a mistake. Pending her testimony.]
How to read what FoolsQuest gives you
FoolsQuest holds up a mirror; it does not pronounce a verdict. A reading is a scene to stand inside, not an instruction to obey. What you recognize there is yours.
